GWAII TO APPEAR IN THE HOLLYWOOD BLOCKBUSTER "REAL STEEL"

I am sure by now, the name Gwaii or Gwaii Thyword, is not that new to your ears, your hearts or your conscious. A multi talented Individual who discovered at a very young age that, Art is not just a way of life, but also, a way of changing life towards the positive side of thinking and of course living. An Actor, Singer, Musician, Philosopher, Public speaker, Model, Performer, you name it, Gwaii (born Ulimboka Mwanjabala) has done it all, and is still doing it to the fullest.

He has dubbed his music as “Hip Hope”, which if a fusion of various genres of modern and contemporary forms of music like Hip Hop, R&B, reggae, Soul, Zouk, Dance and Afro-beat. Gwaii, A Tanzanian native is a proven performer, an element that places him among a chosen few who are considered full artists since they very well match their in-studio Delivery, with their live stage performance, with their charisma, Talent, Dedication, Devotion and Focus so to speak. He has appeared in numerous shows in Colleges, Universities, Cultural diversity Events, and various African Festivals individually, with live bands and sometimes with fellow artists (Albino Fulani, Kodak, Wakazi, Chibo, etc)

As an actor, maybe a lot of people have not been able to see his work but, trust me, your luck in about to change from now on. Gwaii was among other Tanzanian actors and actresses who appeared in a film called “Pasipo” which is yet to be released to the public but features a lot of young aspiring individuals including the former Miss Tanzania, Nancy Sumari. Gwaii role in that movie gained him a lot of respect and accolades that, by the time another film was about to go under production, his name was first to be called, and then came “Baby Powder”. Although both films have not yet reached the public which to some extent is a disappointment to both movie lovers as well as the actors themselves, to Gwaii that didn’t slow him down whatsoever.

With his undying efforts and dedication to his passion, Finally Gwaii was able to secure a role that, in my opinion, will enable him to officially launch his acting career in the “Big Stage” where he belongs. Casted as an extra in the movie called “REAL STEEL” which is hitting the theatres this coming Friday of October 7th, Gwaii’s destiny to become a star can be summarized with this incredible story of how an extra among 3000 people was able to be noticed and eventually brought to the front next to the likes of Hugh Jackman the main Actor, have chit-chats with the Director, Shawn Levy and so forth.

I mean honestly Gwaii looks, acts, and talks like a star. So I am not surprised that he is shinning, but more than that I am pleased and grateful to see him in such big stages as it serves as a reminder to us, “Wabongo” that anything is possible when you put your heart and soul into it, and also makes me wonder how far could he go, if we were showing support all along and not to wait for such moments in order to jump on the bandwagon. With the expectations and pressure that are bound to happen whenever someone star is about to rise, one thing that we should all be certain of, is that even after Real Steel, Gwaii Thyword will be "Still Real" and stay true to his passion, and praise the Almighty for its with him that all these achievements are possible. So I can assure you that there will be more to come.
Please go watch REAL STEEL when it comes out on Friday and support our own. He represents the Tanzanian flag, and East Africa in general, the only way to appreciate his efforts is to acknowledge his work and support him.

Concurrently, Gwaii has an EP out as well, called “GWAII THYMUZIK” which is available on iTunes, CD Baby and on his website (www.gwaiithyword.com). He is finishing Up on his first album that will be released very soon and has a new single called “MAISHA”, that is also available in the same websites aforementioned. His First official video "KAZAA KAMUA" is in post productiion and will soon be viewable in your favorite channels and online.
